Prayer Maps
When a group is praying for long time, it is easy to become distracted and so resources exist to help people focus. These can be highly structured liturgies or looser pictures and lists. The idea of prayer maps comes from the visual essay plans that students are encouraged to use to structure their work.
When I have used the maps, we pick a node to focus on and then we pray as our hearts and the Holy Spirit guides us with the topics springing off the nodes guiding us. The important thing is that we are never constrained but what is written. The prompts help us when we are stuck and if we feel led to pray for other things then we go for it. Bible verses are read out and other resources like news websites, prayer logs and online set prayers and liturgies are also used. Whatever is natural as part of a conversation with God.
The first prayer map is a 6 hour prayer map for really long prayer times. Give it a go.
