12. Baptist Church
The Baptist Church was formed in 1666 and once the law allowed, they started meeting in a building behind Lesley Ashworth. From there, they moved to the building that is now the nightclub and then moved again to this site in 1867. We give thanks for the generations of people in Bromsgrove that despite persecution, have taught of the love and forgiveness that comes from following Jesus.
Pray for the Alpha courses that they plan to start next month- encourage people to invite people and for the people who attend to get the answers they need. Pray for the outreach groups such as the parent and toddler group, “Little Wonders”, the Thursday social group “Living Room”, the women’s and men’s groups and the weekly bible study over the road at Nailer’s Court. May the people who come experience the transformative power of Jesus.
Pray also for the people who live in Windsor Gardens across New Road from the church. Lord, bless them and keep them safe. The church is starting to connect with people who live their and we pray for that ongoing relationship.
We give thanks for the people leading and serving in the church today. We know that true leadership comes from pointing people to Jesus and true service is an outpouring of God’s love. We pray for the prayer event being held here on Saturday as part of the Global Week of Prayer.
We meditate on your word from Colossians 2: 6-7 (NLT):
And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you
must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him,
and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in
the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
Amen
