21. Heart of Worcestershire College
Heart of Worcestershire College is a further education college, primarily for students aged 16+ with three main sites: Worcester, Redditch and Bromsgrove. There are also specialist construction centres in Malvern and Redditch. Approximately half of the 2,600 young people who go to HOW will study in Worcester with less than 400 studying at this site. Courses studied in Bromsgrove include: automotive, engineering, games design, ceramics and photography.
Pray for the staff and leadership team at the college, particularly as they navigate the stresses that come with OFSTED monitoring.
Pray for the many different people working at the college, including external providers who deliver specialist training or offer work experience. By designing courses, developing materials, delivering lectures and tutorials, and marking work, they help students learn and flourish. By researching and writing papers, they develop knowledge and understanding of their academic fields.
Grant them inspiration as they plan courses, enthusiasm as they teach classes, and time management skills as they balance their responsibilities.
Pray for the students that have work experience as part of their courses, that they manage the higher expectations of the workplace.
Pray for all the students that they might work hard and achieve their best as they prepare for their next step in life.
Pray for Christian students and staff that they might enjoy fellowship together and find opportunities to share Jesus with others. They don’t currently have any Christian student groups but have visits from time to time from Lightbox, who provide supportive connections with local churches for 11-17 year olds.
