24. St Peter’s Church

Until the reformation, Catholics worshipped at the parish church of St. John’s which was at that time a Catholic Church. After the Reformation Catholics worshipped in secret at Grafton Manor as well as at a number of local houses owned by the nobility. The building was built between 1859 and 1861 following a donation of land and money for a church here.

We give thanks for the generations of people in Bromsgrove that, through persecution, have taught of the love and forgiveness that comes from following Jesus.

We give thanks for the people leading and serving in the church today. We know that true leadership comes from pointing people to Jesus and true service is an outpouring of God’s love.

We meditate on your word from Colossians 2: 6-7 (NLT):

And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you

must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him,

and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in

the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

Amen
