30. Harwood Park
Harwood Park is a community of just over 400 family homes built, mostly in the 1970s. Official statistics show that it is one of the least deprived areas in the country.
Each Christmas a group of Christians from Bromsgrove Baptist Church put on a carol service in the park that is attended by people from the estate.
There are a number of older people who have lived here since the estate was built and who are now old and infirm, relying on carers to come several times each day to meet their needs. There are three schools (Finstall, Aston Fields and Rigby Hall) on and around the estate, making it very popular with families.
Thank God that so many families are able to grow up in a safe environment with good schools that they can walk to and where it is safe to play outside.
Thank God for the strong community networks that have formed through parents and neighbours and over generations.
Pray for the carol service and that people living here may come to know the joy and peace that comes from being in a relationship with Jesus.
