44. Avoncroft Museum
Avoncroft Museum is home to over 30 historic buildings and structures, dating from the 13th century to the mid-20th century. It opened in 1967 and was the first open air museum in England and contains many buildings that tell the history of out town and region. The church is consecrated and holds occasional Christian services and weddings.
Thank you, God, that thanks to fundraising and an amazing team of volunteers, the windmill is able to turn again.
Thank you for the volunteers who turn up every Thursday to weed and tend to the gardens and grounds. Thank you for the volunteers who manage the cafe and bring the buildings to life by dressing up and welcoming people in.
Pray for more volunteers to act as building interpreters, especially during the holidays.
Pray that news of this amazing museum will spread far and wide and visitor numbers will be consistently high and thereby secure the future of the museum.
Pray for the management team as they care for the historic buildings and artefacts and make strategic decisions about the future of Avoncroft.
