9. St John the Baptist Church and Oasis Centre Bromsgrove

St John's church has Norman origins but is mainly 13th-15th century construction. The upper tower and spire are 15th century. It was restored by Sir G G Scott in 1858. We give thanks for the generations of people in Bromsgrove that have taught of the love and forgiveness that comes from following Jesus.

Just down the drive at Amphlett Court is the meeting place of the Oasis Centre - a group of Christians that meet every Thursday to explore their faith a little deeper and support the wider church network in Bromsgrove.

We give thanks for the people leading and serving in the church today. We know that true leadership comes from pointing people to Jesus and true service is an outpouring of God’s love. We pray for the prayer events being held at St. John's on Wednesday as part of the Global Week of Prayer.

We meditate on your word from Colossians 2: 6-7 (NLT):

And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you

must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him,

and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in

the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

Amen
